What´s the difference between "may" and "can"?

May vs. Can

"May" and "might" are used to imply permission or possibility. "Can" and "could" refer to ability or power.

Ex: We can accept your instructions.
Ex: You may go to the party.
Ex: It may (might) rain tomorrow.
Ex: She could see the lake from her window.
