How do I use semicolons?

Semicolons

Don't be afraid of semicolons. Instead of comma splicing, which is one of the most heinous punctuation errors, use a semicolon to separate two independent clauses when the conjunction is omitted. Example: Thank you for your recent letter; please allow me to respond to your concerns.
